Chris Schubert, PhD
Dr. Schubert is currently the Director of Servier BioInnovation at Servier’s first US office in Boston, MA. He is focused on the identification of opportunities and potential partners in the Group’s five therapeutic areas. Dr. Schubert is an expert in health-related innovation.
Prior to joining Servier BioInnovation, he lead the Therapeutic Atlas Group within Corporate Development and Strategy at Biogen. There he focused on the identification and evaluation of business development and M&A opportunities and the facilitation of therapeutic area strategies across all stages of the biopharmaceutical value chain.
Additionally, he previously served as Associate Director of Human Genetics and Computational Biomedicine at Pfizer Worldwide Research and Development in Cambridge, MA. His scientific and biomedical passions revolve around human brain development, cognition, neurologic and neuropsychiatric disorders; areas in which he has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles, reviews and book chapters, and presented at major scientific and biomedical conferences.
An ardent educator, Dr. Schubert has extensive managerial, mentoring and coaching experience of PhD-level scientists in both academia and industry, having served for many years as Head Teaching Fellow and instructor for two flagship undergraduate courses at both Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Schubert holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biochemistry from the Technical University of Munich, earned his doctorate in Biological Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuroscience and human genetics at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital.
